Autumn Term

In year 6 we are currently reading the novel 'Holes' by Louis Sachar. We will write letters in role of our favourite character, keep a diary of Stanley, write character profiles about the outlaw 'Kate Barlow' and act out freeze frames our favourite part of the book.
In Maths we will be revising our understanding of place value, fractions and decimals, percentages. We will also be looking at formal methods of additions, subtraction, multiplication and division.
There are websites listed that may be helpful with this at home.
We are thinking about our local area and the interesting features close by. We will be reading maps and using grid references to find our way around Newcastle.
Every Friday we have a music lesson with our trumpet teacher. It's great fun and we can already play some interesting notes!
