STEAM Careers and Enterprise Week
15th-19th May 2017
This week all the pupils in St Paul's - and the WEST Trust - have been finding out about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM).
We have researched a wide variety of STEAM careers, taken part in exciting STEAM activities, and enjoyed some STEAM visits and visitors.
In 5W, some workers from G.E. Gas and Oil visited school to talk about jobs and careers with their company. We learned about apprenticeships and degrees. They brought a section of pipe which transports very hot oil from under the sea bed to a given destination.
Year 5 pupils from 5W and 4T visited 'Open Lab' at Newcastle University. They had the opportunity to talk to people about their work and research tasks. They then used BBC micro:bit to create programs.
Technology Tom showed us how to make structures with rolled up paper and doweling.
