balletLORENT has been delivering creative dance workshops in 6 primary schools across Newcastle, including St Paul's Primary, based on themes from the classic Brothers Grimm fairytale, Rumpelstiltskin. From these workshops, 10 children were invited to join the cast of our dance theatre production for the premiere performances at Northern Stage in October. Now you can see a feature length film of this stunning work!

This family friendly feature length film, retold by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy and directed by Liv Lorent, features a cast of 24 (including an intergenerational community cast of 10 children aged 4-9 years and 4 ladies aged 68-79 years from the West & East End of Newcastle) in extraordinary costumes designed by Emmy award winning Michele Clapton (Game of Thrones; The Crown).
Packed with beautiful imagery of gold, straw, sheep and sunsets over landscape and a stunning score of music by the BAFTA nominated cinematic composer Murray Gold (BBC Dr Who), and narration by Ben Crompton (Game of Thrones; Motherland).
