General Information

St Paul’s CE Primary School is a Church of England Primary School situated in the Summerhill conservation area of the West End of Newcastle upon Tyne, within easy walking distance of the City centre, Newcastle College and Newcastle University. The original St Paul’s school was founded in 1862 in the historic Barber Surgeon’s Hall. The St Paul’s CE Primary School of today was purpose built in 1992 but shares many of the aims of the original school: to provide an education within a Christian framework for the residents of the West End of Newcastle upon Tyne.

St Paul’s attracts families from both the local area and also families living further afield with parents studying at the local college or universities.

The school is a single storey construction comprising ten classrooms, all equipped with the latest interactive whiteboards; an ICT suite; a school hall; several small-group tuition rooms; offices; a full catering kitchen; and complimented by spacious, well developed and maintained grounds.

St Paul’s has places for up to 266 children aged between 3 – 11 years including places for up to 26 Nursery children.

We have a Breakfast Club which runs from 8.00am until school starts at 8.50am each weekday, during term time.

St Paul’s offers a wide range of after school activities throughout the school year including Dance, Multi-Sports, Rounders, and Cookery clubs.
