As part of the North East Festival of Languages, our pupils entered a poetry competition, Mother Tongue Other Tongue (MTOT) a celebration of young people’s poetic writing reflecting different languages they speak (first language, language spoken at home, or that a language that they are learning).

The pupils in Year 6 all wrote 'I am' poems. Our pupils impressed the judges so much that they were published in an online book and they were asked to read their poems as part of the |Internationalism Alliance podcast. You can hear them here from 19:58-23:00:  and you can read the online book by clicking here.
