Writing to inform - Autumn 1

Autumn 1

This half term year 6 have been focussing on writing to inform in English. We've spent a lot of time thinking about different genres that are used to give information. We've spent time learning about the game of chess and we all wrote a set of instructions to teach Mrs Nichol how to play. We were very kindly given a Britannica magazine each which we used to find features of information giving texts. We finished the term by writing about the inspiring Katherine Johnson. Have a look at our fantastic writing below. We also demonstrated our writing skills in Science when we wrote an information sheet about the Circulatory System.
